Research and Development Director (based in Shanghai)

Well-known integrated agricultural trading company.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the R&D strategy for flour products in alignment with market trends and business goals
• Develop new products and optimize existing formulas for quality, consistency, and performance
• Guide raw material selection, wheat blending, and flour processing technologies
• Partner with commercial teams and major clients to deliver customized technical solutions
• Build and mentor a high-performing R&D team and foster a culture of innovation

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Food Science, Grain Technology, or related fields
• 8+ years of experience in flour product R&D, with a strong track record in innovation and commercialization
• Deep knowledge of wheat varieties, flour functionality, and milling operations
• Proven leadership in managing R&D teams and cross-functional collaboration
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to interface with clients and sales teams
• Familiarity with food quality systems and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO, HACCP)
