Commercial Manager (Oil & Gas)

Position Overview

Focus on managing the relationship with JV partner to ensure a stable partnership and the achievement of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. JV Partner and Operations Relationship Management
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with JV partners to foster good communication and collaboration.
    • Hold regular meetings with JV partners to ensure mutual understanding of projects, addressing any potential differences or conflicts.
    • Serve as the main liaison between the company and JV partners, representing the company in business negotiations, agreement discussions, and project implementation, offering opinions and recommendations.
  2. Contract Negotiation and Management
    • Participate in negotiations of contract terms and agreements with JV partners, ensuring contracts align with the company’s interests and mitigate business risks.
    • Work with the legal team to draft and review partnership agreements, ensuring all terms are clear, compliant, and beneficial for the company’s long-term growth.
    • Oversee contract implementation to ensure JV projects follow the established terms, addressing any contract issues that arise during execution.
  3. Project Cooperation and Coordination
    • Promote joint operational projects with JV partners, ensuring resource allocation is reasonable, efficient, and aligned with company goals.
    • Collaborate with JV partners and operations to formulate and execute project strategic plans, facilitating cooperation in technology, finance, and resource sharing.
    • Monitor project progress and provide timely project reports and collaboration recommendations to company management.
  4. Cross-Department Collaboration
    • Work closely with technical, operational, financial, and legal departments to ensure all project needs are supported.
    • Maintain transparent communication with internal teams, providing updates on joint venture projects and decision support.
    • Ensure smooth resource and workflow coordination across departments for JV projects, contributing to successful project implementation.
  5. Stakeholder Communication
    • Regularly communicate business objectives, development strategies, and project progress with JV partners to maintain alignment on future goals.
    • Organize and lead regular collaboration meetings between both parties, reporting on project progress, financial performance, and business challenges.
    • Represent the company in industry events or forums to showcase the company’s strengths and commercial value in JV partnerships.

 Key Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Petroleum Engineering, Geology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in the oil or gas industry.
  • Skills Required:
    • Strong contract negotiation and relationship management skills, particularly in partnerships with JV partners.
    • Excellent communication and coordination abilities to drive collaboration in complex business environments.
    • In-depth knowledge of commercial practices, financial management, and project management in the oil and gas industry.
